Chicago White Sox vs Los Angeles Angels MLB Pick – August 16

The MLB is place with a different full night of action on Friday night. There will be a total of fifteen matches on the board for August 16 as another weekend of baseball begins. One of the matchups to finish the night will be between the Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Angels. Both of these teams have been set to meet around 10:07 PM Eastern time on Friday night.
The White Sox have made a listing of 54-66 to this stage in the season, which includes them sitting in third position of the AL Central. Chicago hasn't had the best season, but they'll look to try and finish powerful as the season nears its finish. The White Sox have won just two of the past few matches and will look to keep that streak going with a road victory against the Angels.
Los Angeles has a record of 60-63 this year, which has them sitting in fourth place of the AL West. The Angels have struck a tiny dry spell out of late, dropping ten of their last fourteen games. Los Angeles is eleven games from a wild card spot in the American League, but can make a push for it if they catch hot in these last weeks of the season.
The White Sox and the Angels both have losing records for this stage in the season, however, are still seeking to finish strong. The two rosters are solid and should match up well with each other once again. Chicago and Los Angeles are accumulating in their very first series for the season. Last night's match was a good night to feel out each other, which ought to lead to a competitive second matchup.
The White Sox and the Angels fulfilled twice last season. The very first series was hosted by Chicago at the subsequent stages of this year. The White Sox were able to acquire the first two games 5-3 and 4-2, but Los Angeles bounced back to win the third and the fourth game by scores of 11-3 and 12-8. The next show changed to Los Angeles, where the Angels swept Chicago with scores of 5-2, 12-3 and 1-0.
The very first game of the show was last night at Los Angeles. The Angels got began early since Mike Trout and Justin Upton homered to help lead Los Angeles to an 8-2 lead. Jose Abreu homered in the seventh inning to pull it closer. Welington Castillo had a two-run homer for the White Sox at the top of the ninth as Chicago made a comeback push. The White Sox effort fell short though since they lost 8-7.
The Angeles set a listing of 5-2 against Chicago last year and were able to pull off another win against the White Sox on Thursday night. Chicago will need to get a better beginning on Friday night should they want to bounce back from last night's loss. When the White Sox can ride the momentum from the night's ninth-inning though, I feel they can triumph in the next game of the set.
Jose Abreu has set up a solid performance during this season, making 133 hits, 25 home runs and 89 RBI's. Leury Garcia includes 34 RBI's and 126 hits. Tim Anderson has earned 110 hits, 12 homers and 40 RBI's. James McCann has set up 86 hits, 13 homers and 43 RBI's, while Eloy Jimenez has 76 strikes, 20 home runs and 47 RBI's on the year.
David Fletcher leads Los Angeles in hits with 123, but only has 5 home runs and 42 RBI's. Mike Trout leads this group with 121 strikes, 40 homers, 93 RBI's along with an OPS of all 1.093. Kole Calhoun has made 99 hits, 26 home runs and 60 RBI's. Shohei Ohtani has 90 strikes, 15 home runs and 49 RBI's. Albert Pujols includes 86 hits, 18 home runs and 70 RBI's, although Brian Goodwin includes 80 strikes and 10 homers.
These two teams have solid hitters during their lineup, however I feel the Angels have a small advantage with Mike Trout in their lineup. Meanwhile, the White Sox are overlooking Yoan Moncada, that has 112 hits and 20 home runs on the season, that has hurt them. The two these lineups can do a little damage though should they go up from poor pitching.
The White Sox will have Lucas Giolito begin on the mound for Friday night's tilt. Giolito has set up an impressive 12-6 album through 23 starts this season. In all those starts, he has published an ERA of 3.42 and a WHIP of all 1.127. Giolito's last start came against the Oakland A's, at which he allowed five hits and two runs with 13 strikeouts through six innings.
Patrick Sandoval will begin for Los Angeles at Friday night's game. Sandoval has just played in two matches and has just one start this season. In those two games, he has a 5.59 ERA and a WHIP of 1.552. Sandoval's launch came on August 11 from the Boston Red Sox. Sandoval allowed six hits and four runs through four and two-thirds innings.
I believe that the White Sox have a wonderful edge in this matchup when it comes to pitching. Giolito has set a solid time for Chicago, although Sandoval has just played twice and hasn't been great. I feel that the White Sox will have a fantastic opportunity to find an early lead against Sandoval, which could provide them the essential advantage in this match.
The Angeles managed to win the very first game of this series, but I think that the White Sox will have the ability to bounce back with a win of their own on Friday night. Chicago and Los Angeles match well on the hitting side, but together using Giolito beginning for the White Sox, I like them to pull off the win. Sandoval was subpar in his games played so far and I do not expect a terrific beginning in him on Friday night.
BetOnline includes Los Angeles listed as a -124 from the money in this match. This means that the Angels will win this match around 55.4% of their time. I believe this game should be much closer to , which provides a good deal of value to the White Sox. I'm taking Chicago to rebound in Thursday night's loss.
