Since England U21s began their Euro 2021 qualifying campaign with a 3-2 victory in 20, just two goals were scored by eddie Nketiah.
Frustration was endured by the team of aidy Boothroyd at the summer since they were knocked out of the European Championship from the group stages and it looked like that atmosphere might survive on Friday despite having a crop of prospects granted a opportunity to impress.
Just six members of their group with this month’s qualifiers have previously played the Young Lions – Nketiah one of them.
The striker put England and, Reiss and Nketiah Nelson struck in quick succession to secure the win, though the match turned round.
England started well and went ahead after just four minutes following a great move between Steven Sessegnon and Phil Foden the side of the penalty area; Foden’s low cross was missed by 2 Turkish defenders allowing Nketiah to stab the ball home from seven yards out.
The teams went to the period level after Dogukan Sinik scored following 25 minutes and dashed clear although nelson had an even clearer opportunity to score in the first half.
England made a start to the second half and they paid the price six minutes after the restart. A corner saw Mert Muldur eliminate his mark and his free rush into the near post saw him flick the ball past Aaron Ramsdale.
But, into the match turned . Foden had been the architect again, darting goalwards before threading a beautiful pass inside the penalty area just to Nketiah and that the Arsenal forward, on loan at Leeds, given a clean finish.
Immediately Nelson netted what proved to be the winning goal with a shot which may have taken a deflection off a guardian that was Turkish.
