I’ve observed lots of times this season that it is a waste of time for almost any other’Dancing with the Stars’ contestant to function the’sympathy angle’ with Victoria Arlen in the area. Nothing that they can come up with will top Arlen–how can you beat”I had been in a vegetative state for four decades and only discovered how to walk again”? It was on full display in Episode 5 of’Dancing with the Stars’ that had the theme’Most Memorable Year’. While there were several favorable’memorable years’ the DWTS manufacturers might also have titled it’Here’s *my* sob story’. Again, I am not attempting to denigrate anything anybody else has been through but the simple fact remains that from a psychological standpoint each other contestant is placing a flush onto the dining table while Arlen is holding a four of a kind.
After the previous episode that had no removal in the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting this incident was rather eventful. Derek Fisher was removed. I’d’D-Fish’ since the first contestant to get shown the door this season and his elimination is hard to contend with looking in the scores. He has the third lowest average score (20.0) although him turning in his best score of the season (23) he has not shown much improvement week to week. So’D-Fish’ has been gone and Nick Lachey might be next to follow him out the door. It is hard to believe how tentative and uncomfortable that he seems. It is even harder to believe that one sportsbook had him set up as the pre-season favored according to this tenuous logic: Nick was at a 1990’s’boy band’ known as 98 Degrees. 1990’s ‘boy bands’ used to dance around on stage. 98 Degrees had a reasonable amount of popularity. Ergo, Nick knows how to dance, will probably be comfortable in front of a crowd and have a good deal of fan support. To be honest, there are many from the general public that had the exact same rationale but they’re not in the business of taking bets.
In other improvements –Terrell Owens continues to improve and is beginning to display the swagger and charm he had on the football field. Jordan Fisher was given the first’10’ score of the year and ended with the greatest overall score this year (29). Maks Chmerkovskiy returned into the show after missing last week because of’personal reasons’ that might or might not have been warmth with his celebrity partner Vanessa Lachey. We also discovered that Frankie Muniz has taken more shots into the dome than Sidney Crosby. Nick Lachey clearly cannot catch a break right now–he talked about how happy he’s been married to his current wife and what does he get for this? He has trolled by Jessica Simpson lovers. Wait, she has fans?
