Main Event: Jon Jones (-285) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (+225)
The last time Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson confronted, roughly a year-and-a-half past, it was the former that emerged with the win. Though many thought Gustafsson could have had him, the judges granted Jones a unanimous victory.
The odds last time around, however, were more in favor of Jones, together with Gustafsson putting everywhere between +800 and +1000 lines. That they’re so close now speaks to how well he fared in the first assembly, while also nodding towards just how much he’s improved his fast-twitch stamina.
Even so, Jones, who hasn’t fought in 17 months, has mostly dominated everyone he has come around from the Octagon. This fight should take more gasoline than he’s accustomed to consuming up, but he must still pull it out and win the light heavyweight belt.
