MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez won the San Marino Grand Prix in a race which culminated in battle with France’s Fabio Quartararo.
The championship leader finally prevailed to proceed to 77 wins across all classes, the most of time.
“Really great to win here in Italy, but even nicer to get a 93-point lead in the tournament,” the Spaniard said.
Maverick Vinales finished in six races in third due to his fourth podium placing.
Marquez, 26, has 275 points heading into the Aragon Grand Prix of the next week, with Andrea Dovizioso second on Danilo and 182 Petrucci third on 151.
